Bass Fishing With Carolina Keepers |
|
Carolina Keepers may be a godsend. If you're like me and don't like to spend your valuable fishing time tying knots, these are for you. If you use Carolina Rigs, you are going to love these babies. They make the rigging process so much faster and you can change leader lengths on the fly. They can also be used for catfishing and using live bait. My preference is plastics. Rather than having to tie to a swivel, then tie a leader to a swivel, then tie the leader to the hook (already I'm getting tired), you simple tie to the hook. Here's how it works... To put a Carolina Keeper on your line you simply squeeze the Carolina Keeper with needle-nose pliers. It has a slit that opens when... |

Cold Weather Bass Fishing In Late Fall |
|
When late fall comes around most anglers slow down on their fishing. Yes, the catch may be slower but you have to remember one thing…..the last thing a bass wants to do in the late fall is go deep, even with a cold front as long as their plenty of shallow cover. Wood is an excellent place for bass in the late fall, especially submerged and laydown trees. Jigs, spinnerbaits, small crankbaits like the Little N, all are good lures to use at this time of year. Fishing pockets is also very productive this time of year. Remember to fish a spinnerbait lengthways down a submerged tree and lead the lure using your rod so it bumps off of big limbs from the tree. Try using SuspenDots on the... |

Fly Fishing for Largemouth Bass |
|
Like all bass fishing, bass fly fishing has exploded in popularity. The largemouth bass is considered by many the greatest of all gamefish. Once limited to just the Eastern United States, the largemouth bass has been introduced all over the continent. When most people think of bass fishing they think of, stiff fiberglass rods, heavy lines and large lures. But more and more fisherman are finding the advantage of fly fishing for this game fish. Advantages of fly fishing: Fly fishing allows the angler a wider variety of food imitations. While large lures only imitate a small number of food sources, flies can imitate virtually all the sources of bass food, including small organisms like... |

Keep Yourself Informed Through Bass Fishing Reports
Author:
John Hutson
There are many different bass fishing websites that post reports in their respective homepage to inform the sport fishers of the latest developments and events for bass fishing. The reports come from different places in the United States and other popular bass fishing countries, like Brazil are included in the report. It is posted either on a weekly, monthly, or even yearly basis. The fishing report formats are compiled by each state where popular bass fishing sites are located. For instance, a website showing the latest fishing report on that day may have one angler posting his daily account of events that happened after a week of his adventure. He could post several observations pertaining to his bass fishing activity, such as the water temperature, weather condition that day, and his prediction for tomorrow’s weather condition. He could also report about the fish he caught and the techniques he used to lure his prey into the bait. Weather can play an important part in how successful you can be on particular rivers. One of reports posted on a bass fishing homepage is the condition of some rivers across the country. In the website floridashiner.com, the fishermen posted that the fishing has been poor during a particular month because of the severe cold weather. Bass fish tend to stay deeper in the river or sea to protect themselves from the effects of the big drop of temperature. Overnight temperatures, according to them, were as low as 40 degrees Fahrenheit. Another report was posted on the website fishandgame.idaho.gov stressing out the condition of the rivers in their locality. They had listed some of the lowland lakes in Idaho that is best in winter bass fishing. This includes the following: · Mouse Creek
· Spring Valley Reservoir
· Mann Lake
· The Elk Creek Reservoir
· Deer Creek Reservoir
· Soldier Meadow Reservoir Other reports posted on bass fishing websites are the latest developments in bass fish breeding. They inquire if it is possible to combine the breeds of largemouth and trophy bass. They also wonder about the result if they combine the different breeds of smallmouth bass or peacock bass. For sure, they stressed, that combining different breeds of bass would certainly be another challenge for them. ====================

|
It has a slit that opens when squeezed and you place the line through the hole and release the pliers. Use the same method to adjust the leader length. Pretty tough, huh? The Carolina Keeper is great for use with sliding sinkers because it eliminates the need for split shot or swivels to keep your sinker above the bait. The Keeper can be easily adjusted up or down the line to change your leader length. You can easily make adjustments without having to change the whole rig. If it slips or if you are using a larger weight, adding a second keeper will keep the weight in place. One good idea is to use two Carolina Keepers on the hook side below two lighter weights. This will cause the weights to make a noise, especially if you shake them in brush piles (even more so with tungsten weights). Also, the weights banging against each other knocks them loose to aid in avoiding snags in the brush or in rocks. Line twists with Carolina Keepers is almost non-existent and you can feel much more confident with your rig by not having a couple of more knots on a swivel. I like the idea of being tied directly to the hook and not... |
